Quality of the Week Challenge: Compassion

I want to be the best person that I can be. The most kind, loving, selfless, intelligent, thoughtful, joyful me that I can be. All to often I find myself falling into complacency in my life, where I just do whatever I need to do without much thought. A life like that is a horribly hollow one that I want none of. While trying to move away from a complacent hollow life I’ve realized that I’m not used to taking time to reflect and improve myself. But I’ve recently realized that if I want to be the best version of myself then I need to take time to reflect and put effort into being a better person. I’ve also realized that there are quite a few qualities I really need to improve on. I know that it takes constant effort to build new habits like these, so I’ve decided to make a commitment. Here it goes. Every week I’m going to choose a quality that I want to work on. Then, each day of that week I’m going to remind myself of the quality and what I can do to improve it. At the end of the each day I’ll reflect in solitude about how it went, then each week I’ll write a quick post about how it went.

We can all improve in so many ways, so why not pick a quality that you could use some improvement on and give this a try along with me! One week of continuous effort could make you a much better individual, friend, parent, or spouse! Also, it’s a great opportunity to take a break from our fast paced society and give yourself a few minutes in quite contemplation – a habit that’s good for the body, mind and soul.
