Hello! Sorry that I’ve been MIA for a while now, but I think I have a pretty good reason! Suddenly, my husband and I got the opportunity to move out of our little condo to a house…with…space! I have loved our little condo, but as you can see, I traded it in an instant to upgrade to an actual house. The only catch was that we basically had to move 3 days after we found out it was happening! To me that was a huge relief, if we had to wait a month I don’t know what I would have done with myself, probably spend every day packing and unpacking! So just over a week ago (the 15th) we spent our first night in our new house. Living in a house is so much different than a small condo, it feels enormous, like there’s so much space we don’t know what to do with!
So this new house…have I already mentioned that we live in an actual house!? It might seem silly that I’m this excited about it, but to me a house is an actual home, I didn’t feel as though our condo had that same special feeling. Maybe it’s because both my husband and I grew up in families that only ever lived in houses, but to us this really is our home. It’s been really easy for us to settle into, and we’ve already been able to have family over many times – something we did maybe twice at the condo because it was so impractical. Another thing I’m very very excited about is that there is a wonderful bright big kitchen in this house! So, my food posts are going to be much more beautiful from now on! In the condo the only windows we had were on one side of the house, opposite to the kitchen, which meant that anytime I wanted to photograph my food I had to use hard overhead lighting or bring my food through the living room and photograph it by the window. The brown wood you see in most of my photos – that’s the floor…it was a beautiful floor though 🙂
I’m going to upload a bunch of pictures of our new place in a few days, I hope you’ll check back to see them.
